1. What these terms cover
These terms govern the Screengaze website, account, purchases and licence management, as well as the licence to use the application. The service provider and contact details appear in the legal notice.
Before purchasing, you will be able to review the terms and the details of your order. The privacy policy explains data processing; reading it or browsing the website does not amount to consent to marketing messages. You must have legal capacity to enter into a contract and authority to represent any organisation you act for.
2. Requirements and availability
Screengaze is a native application for Apple Silicon Macs. Beta compatibility is being validated; the download page will identify the exact macOS versions and configurations validated for each release. It supports screen, window or area recording, editing and video export. Recording and performance are still being validated. At the date of this version, public downloads and purchasing are not yet open.
Windows and Linux are future plans with no confirmed release date. Joining their waitlist is not a purchase, reservation or release guarantee. Demos labelled as historical do not necessarily represent the current interface.
3. Account and Mac authorisation
You sign in to your account with Google. Protect your account and only authorise devices you are entitled to use. When linking the application to your account, check that the code displayed on your Mac matches the website before confirming.
Your account lets you view your licence and disconnect activated Macs. A purchase confirmation page or URL does not itself prove payment: the licence depends on payment verification. Contact support if you notice a sign-in or activation you do not recognise.
4. Free mode and personal licence
The licence allows you to use the application; it does not transfer ownership of the software. The product's commercial terms are as follows:
- Free mode allows recording and editing without a commercial duration limit. MP4 and GIF exports are limited to 180 seconds, up to 720p, with a watermark.
- The personal purchase is a one-time payment for activation on two Macs. It removes those commercial export limits and the watermark. Technical GIF format limits still apply.
- The purchase includes all future improvements to the application. Future services that incur cloud costs are outside this licence.
- The licence allows up to 30 days of offline use from its last validation. An internet connection and successful licence validation are required to renew that period.
5. Purchasing and payment
The personal licence costs a one-time payment of EUR 29, including applicable taxes. The total remains EUR 29 regardless of country; the tax breakdown is calculated from the billing details and displayed before you confirm your order in Stripe Checkout. The personal purchase is not a subscription and has no automatic recurring renewals. Purchasing will remain disabled until its configuration is complete.
Check the requirements and order details before paying. Keep the confirmation and purchase reference for any enquiries. If payment is confirmed but your licence does not appear in your account, send support that reference without including full card details.
6. Withdrawal and consumer rights
Consumer purchases have a 14-calendar-day withdrawal period from the contract, unless a valid legal exception applies. For digital content, the exception requires supply to begin, express prior consent, acknowledgement of losing the right and contractual confirmation. These terms neither collect nor presume that waiver.
To withdraw, send a clear statement to screengazestudio@gmail.com or the postal address provided. Include your name, purchase email, order and date. Any refunds and other rights required by law will apply.
You may use this model, but it is not mandatory: ‘To the Screengaze operator: I hereby withdraw from the purchase contract for [product or order], concluded on [date]. Consumer name: [name]. Address: [address]. Date: [date]. Signature: [only for a paper submission]’.
Where withdrawal applies, we will reimburse payment without undue delay and within 14 calendar days of receiving your decision, using the same payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise without incurring costs.
7. Your recordings and permitted use
You keep the rights to your recordings, projects and exports. You must have the rights, permissions and legal grounds needed to record other people's screens, voices, images or information and to share the result. Also respect restrictions on the applications and content you record.
Recording and editing take place on your Mac. The website has no feature for uploading those projects or recordings. Back up files you need to keep and review material before publishing it, especially if it contains personal data or confidential information.
- Do not use the product for unlawful activities, to infringe third-party rights or to access someone else's account.
- Do not distribute the software as your own or bypass licence validation or security controls.
- Do not attack or interfere with the website, authentication or licensing service. Any exceptions and rights provided by law remain available to you.
8. Intellectual property
The application, code, brand and website content belong to their respective rights holders and are protected by applicable rights. Using the product does not authorise you to redistribute the software, use the brand to imply an official connection, or exploit someone else's content without permission.
Third-party components retain their own licences. These terms do not restrict uses permitted by those licences or interoperability, study or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Support, incidents and access
Contact screengazestudio@gmail.com with questions about functionality, purchases or activations. Describe the issue and the version used; avoid including passwords, full card details or unnecessary files.
Website access and validation may be affected by maintenance, network issues or external services. We may proportionately restrict access that threatens security or breaches these terms. Payment, licence or activation errors can be submitted to support for review.
10. Conformity and responsibility
The product description and the terms applicable to an order form part of the contract. Issues will be handled with regard to legally required conformity rights, corrections and other remedies.
No clause excludes statutory guarantees, liability for intentional wrongdoing or negligence where it cannot be waived, or other mandatory rights. Consider technical requirements, validation status and connectivity dependencies before using or purchasing the product.
11. Waitlist
The Windows and Linux waitlist is voluntary and does not require an account. Its form asks for specific consent to receive news about your chosen platform. You can withdraw consent by writing to the privacy contact without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
The current feature collects requests; sending update emails has not yet been implemented. Joining does not oblige you to purchase or change the terms of an existing licence.
12. Changes, applicable law and complaints
Updates to these terms will be published with their date. An update does not retroactively reduce rights from an existing purchase. Where a change requires additional information or acceptance, the legally required procedure will apply.
Spanish law governs these terms, subject to any applicable mandatory consumer protections. Send complaints to screengazestudio@gmail.com. The competent courts are those determined by law; this clause does not require a consumer to give up their legally available jurisdiction.
The Spanish and English versions describe the same terms. Please report any difference so we can clarify it without limiting your rights.
